Agents and connected apps
Use Synclyr from a compatible AI agent through MCP, with OAuth authorization and structured project, timing and export tools.
Remote MCP server
Add https://mcp.synclyr.com/mcp as a remote MCP server in a client that supports remote MCP and OAuth. The connection flow opens Synclyr so you can review and approve access.
No Synclyr API key to manage
Authentication is handled through the Synclyr authorization flow rather than a Synclyr API key that you copy into the agent. After approval, the client can use only the access granted through that connection.
What a connected agent can do
Depending on the permissions you approve, an agent can create and inspect projects, add or replace audio, start Sync or transcription, read and edit captions, split or merge captions, change caption settings, adjust individual word timing, export SRT/VTT/ASS/LRC, and delete projects.
Ask for an outcome instead of UI steps
For example: “Create a project from this audio and transcript, sync it, turn on active-word highlighting, and export ASS.” Or: “Transcribe this audio and give me SRT and VTT.” The agent can choose the Synclyr tools needed to complete the request.
Sync minutes work the same way
Sync or transcription started by a connected agent uses your normal Synclyr minute balance, just as if you started it in the Editor. Uploading audio, changing settings, editing captions, checking status and exporting do not use additional processing minutes.
Uploads and Sync can run in the background
Long uploads, audio preparation, Sync and transcription may continue after the agent starts them. A connected agent can check project status instead of starting the same job again.
Billing and account security stay separate
Connected agents cannot purchase minutes, change or cancel a plan, manage payment details, or change account security. Those actions stay in the Synclyr account and billing experience.
Disconnect an agent
Open Account and find Connected apps. Disconnecting an app stops future access to Synclyr through that connection. It does not undo work the agent already completed.
Client support varies
The AI client must support the connection method Synclyr uses. Availability and the exact connection UI depend on the agent or plugin platform. The third-party client may also process files and instructions under its own terms and privacy policy.
